CME Sub-committee Information on the College Website (Updated on May 2008)

1. Hong Kong Academy of Medicine CME Program for Dental Specialists

CME/CPD is mandatory for holders of FHKAM. The CME Sub-committee oversees the implementation of the CME/CPD Program and reports the results to the HKAM Education Committee. The Principles and Guidelines on CME/CPD as well as the various claim forms are available for download. Cycles have been synchronized for all Fellows and the present cycle is from 1-1-2008 to 31-12-2010.The requirement is 90 points. Newly admitted Fellows will start the Program immediately, ending on the same date.

Fellows could now view their personal CME profile on the MLMS website (http://www.icmecpd.hk). For those who are not familiar with the Academy's MLMS, the 'step-by-step' guide could be downloaded to register and use the system.

2. The Dental Council of Hong Kong CME Program for Practising Dentists

Participation in this Program for the present cycle from 1-1-2008 to 31-12-2010 is entirely voluntary. The requirement is 45 points. The College has been appointed by the Dental Council of Hong Kong as one of the Program Administrators and Program Accreditors. The Principles and Guidelines on CPD as well as the Enrolment Form are available for download. An administrative charge will be levied for this service. The College has also been appointed as a Service Provider and all CPD activities organised by the College will attract credits. All activities not organised by an appointed Service Provider require prior approval upon applications.  A standard report form with guidelines is introduced for use by dentists taking part in self-study CME activities. The participating dentist should send the completed form to the CME Programme Accreditor via the CME Programme Administrator concerned for assessment on the credit points to be awarded for each self-study CME activity.
