Specialist Training Pathway in Family Dentistry
The specialist training programme in Family Dentistry shall encompass a minimum of 6 years, with a Basic Training leading to an Intermediate Examination 4 years after enrolment, followed by 2 years of supervised Higher Training leading to the Exit Examination.

*The Diploma of Member in General Dental Surgery (MGDS RCSEd)
The examination consists of two parts: Part I is a Written examination that comprises an essay type paper (3 hours) and 20 short answer questions (2 hours). Part II is composed of a presentation of 4 Clinical Log Cases, a Practice Visitation (90 minutes), a Clinical Examination (60 minutes) and an Oral Examination (30 minutes).
**Specialty Exit Examination in Family Dentistry
The examination consists of: Exit Assessment Dissertation and an Oral Examination.
