Specialist Training Pathway in Orthodontics

Basic and Higher Specialist Training in Orthodontics in Hong Kong is a joint endeavor between the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong and the Government Dental Service, Department of Health. The full time specialist training in Orthodontics is for a minimum of six year, with an intermediate examination after 4 years followed by a 2-year higher training programme leading to the exit examinations.

*The Diploma of Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth RCS Ed)
The examination will consist of 5 sections: Written examination (3 hours), Clinical Case Histories (30 minutes), Clinical Examination (60 minutes), Diagnostic Examination (30 minutes) and Oral Examination (30 minutes).

**Specialty Exit examination in Orthodontics
The examination will consist of 4 sections: Log Book, Written Section, Case Evaluation and Case Review Section. Log Book - candidate must demonstrate the varieties of clinical cases treated under supervision. Case Review Section - Five cases no more than one case be selected from the same category.
